The Delonghi air conditioner has a self diagnosis system to identify a number of malfunctions. Error messages are displayed on the AC display.

Delonghi AC is fitted with a frost protection device to avoid excessive formation of ice. The air conditioner starts up again automatically when the defrosting process is completed. You don’t have to do anything.

  • It sometimes stops operating to protect the appliance.

  • This occurs when the air in the room becomes very cold, for example in the “COOLING” or “DEHUMIDIFYING/DRY” modes.

Precautions:

Humid air left inside the refrigerant circuit can cause compressor malfunction. After having connected the indoor and outdoor units, bleed the air and humidity from the refrigerant circuit using a vacuum pump.

  1. Unscrew and remove the caps from the 2-way and 3-way valves.
  2. Unscrew and remove the cap from the service valve.
  3. Connect the vacuum pump hose to the service valve.
  4. Operate the vacuum pump for 10-15 minutes until an absolute vacuum of 10 mm Hg has been reached.
  5. With the vacuum pump still in operation, close the low-pressure knob on the vacuum pump coupling. Stop the vacuum pump.
  6. Open the 2-way valve by 1/4 turn and then close it after 10 seconds. Check all the joints for leaks using liquid soap or an electronic leak device.
  7. Turn the body of the 2-way and 3-way valves. Disconnect the vacuum pump hose.
  8. Replace and tighten all the caps on the valves.

How to remove Delonghi portable AC limescale filter

  1. Turn the appliance off and unplug from the mains.
  2. Make sure there is no water in the appliance by emptying the tank and internal tray.
  3. Lay the appliance on its back.
  4. Rest it on a towel or piece of cardboard to avoid scratches or damage.
  5. Remove the filter cover by unscrewing the four screws.
  6. Remove the filter delicately and loosen the two ties, making sure the two hoses connecting the filter do not slip inside the appliance.
  7. Fit the new filter, following the same procedure in reverse. The pawl on the filter indicates the correct direction. The pawl must always be towards the inside of the appliance and point “A” must be facing upwards.

How to clean Delonghi portable AC silver ion filter

  1. To clean the silver ion dust filter, the electrostatic filter must be temporarily removed.
  2. To clean the filters, use a vacuum cleaner at medium power.
  3. The silver ion filter can be washed with lukewarm water. Leave to dry completely and replace.
  4. The electrostatic filter is not washable but it should be replaced at least once every two seasons.
  5. The electrostatic filter can be bought from shops selling De’longhi accessories or authorised service centres.
